In the film Annabelle Comes Home the doll is brought by Ed and Lorraine Warren to their haunted artifact room. It is here that the Warren’s young daughter and her babysitters unwittingly release the dark entity within Annabelle, in return being terrorized. It is said that this man entered the museum, along with his girlfriend, and challenged the doll against the advice of Ed. After their visit, as they drove away on a motorcycle, this young couple proceeded to continue laughing about Annabelle.

The film franchise is only a loose adaptation of the true Annabelle story. For a start, the movie doll is porcelain as opposed to a Raggedy Ann. Furthermore, her origin story doesn’t include Donna, Angie, or Lou — in the first Annabelle film, a husband gives the doll to his pregnant wife as a gift. Shortly after, their home gets invaded by a Satanic cult, who pass the malevolent demon into the inanimate object.

This initially started with subtle movements, such as the doll’s legs being crossed. This steadily increased to the point that the doll would be seen in other rooms to where it was earlier left. It was even captured kneeling, which was physically impossible for the doll to later repeat. Annabelle told them that she was a 7-year-old girl who died where Donna and Angie's apartment complex was built.

The parchment notes were nothing compared to what would happen next. This new film will take place sometime between The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2. It starts off with Ed and Lorraine bringing Annabelle home after being called to intervene in her evil doings and putting the doll in the artifacts room. The Warrens and Cooke exorcised the apartment and removed the doll from the area, revealing that the doll was not inhabited by a young girl at all. The doll also began leaving messages on parchment around the apartment, even though Donna and Angie did not own parchment. The messages would say “Help Us” or “Help Lou” (Lou, being a friend of Donna and Angie’s fiance).

The most crucial thing to remember is that neither the priests nor the victims Angie and Donna told their story; we only know this through Ed and Lorraine, and maybe our only proof of this case. The Warrens acknowledged that they had dealt with the dark force that resides within the doll. The Warrens also described some of the situations and experiences of people who had Annabelle nightmares. A defiant man visiting the museum had heard the tales and began bashing on Annabelle's case, calling on her to scratch him if she was real. An hour later the couple saw the priest off, asking him to call them when he got home.

According to the real Ed and Lorraine, a mother purchased Annabelle in 1970 from a store and gave her to her daughter Donna as a birthday present. It’s said that the OG Annabelle began ruining people’s lives around 1970. A mother bought the doll in a hobby shop to give to her daughter, and the rest was evil history. The doll has been said to give off every creepy devil vibe, from straight-up levitating to actually attacking family members.

Shortly after being gifted the doll, Donna and Angie noticed she would slightly change positions throughout the day, such as crossing her arms and legs. Over time, they claim she started to move to different locations in their home. “Several times Donna, placing the doll on the coach before leaving for work, would return home to find the doll back in her room on the bed with the door closed,” said the Warrens.

In several instances, Donna would place the doll on the living room couch only to find it in her room on her bed with the door shut. During one of these instances, Donna found the doll on her bed covered in a red liquid substance that appeared to be blood. However, even then a guest reportedly died in a motorcycle accident, directly after banging Annabelle's box. After the exorcism was carried out, Bill Ramsey said he was free from the evil that was in him. He returned to his former self and went on to live out a normal life. The third movie in the trilogy, Annabelle Comes Home, shows what happened after Ed and Lorraine took the doll from the nursing student and her friends. On their way home, they encounter car trouble and have to stop - right outside a cemetery. This is a dramatization on the real-life Warrens' trip back home after obtaining Annabelle.
